The announcement comes after a legal ordeal that began in April 2025, when Bond was arrested in Collin County, Texas, following allegations of sexual assault. He was released after posting $25,000 bail and maintained that the accusations were “patently false”, fully cooperating with investigators throughout the process, according to an ESPN report.
Bond also thanked the Browns organization, including owner Jimmy Haslam, executive vice president, and general manager Andrew Berry, for allowing him to continue his NFL career. He emphasized that he now focuses on football and contributing to the Cleveland community.
However, the Browns have not yet confirmed whether they are planning on signing the wide receiver.
What were the charges against Isaiah Bond?
Isaiah Bond faced an allegation of sexual assault, which led to an arrest and a warrant in April 2025. In the original complaint filed in April, Isaiah Bond requested a jury trial along with monetary damages, punitive compensation, and an injunction preventing his accuser from labeling him a sex offender, according to a copy obtained by the American-Statesman.
While Bond acknowledged that a sexual encounter took place, he has consistently denied any wrongdoing, a position supported by his agent.
The complaint was filed just a week before the NFL Draft, which featured a record number of Texas Longhorns being selected. Bond, 21, went undrafted, a surprising outcome for a player once projected to be picked in the early rounds.
Bond is a Georgia native who spent two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Texas for his junior year. In his final season with the Longhorns, he recorded 540 receiving yards on 34 receptions, including five touchdowns with an average of 15.9 yards per reception.
