What is Trump administration's new AI tool; key points to know
Accessing information about government services can involve navigating various websites, forms and guidelines. The Trump administration has launched a new AI-powered website to make that procedure easy by enabling Americans to ask questions in ordinary language and obtain details from official government sources.

The Trump administration introduced America.gov on Tuesday morning as a fresh AI-driven tool created to help Americans find government details. The website has an interface that has a resemblance of an AI chatbot and which is functioned by the General Services Administration, the federal agency responsible for giving technology used by the government. The tool was made with the National Design Studio.

President Donald Trump, cabinet authorities, and technology leaders announced the new website Tuesday at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Joe Gebbia, who is the co-founder of Airbnb and head of the National Design Studio has also joined the president for the announcement.

How the AI Tool Works

America.gov is created to support users to ask questions without having to go through numerous government websites. The website states its approach by citing, "Instead of navigating the maze of websites, you ask questions in your own words, and you get official answers back instantly. There are no menus to learn or forms to hunt down,"

As per the website, the tool can offer, "step-by-step guidance" for government services. It can also offer extra explanations regarding a specific form or letter.

Language and Access Options

Users can communicate with the tool in English, Spanish, or French.

These features are made to make the government details service accessible via straightforward question-and-answer format.

The website also outlines other capabilities that are anticipated to be introduced in the future such as the ability to complete forms, applications and renewals through the platform.

Privacy Claims

America.gov also emphasizes its privacy policy. The website cites that it does not store personal details and does not trace users’ information or search history.

A New Way to Find Government Information

America.gov represents the Trump administration’s attempt to create a centralized, AI-powered way for Americans to obtain government information. Rather than requiring users to search through several websites, this service is made around questions submitted via text or voice.

The administration has featured America.gov as “a new front door for the federal government,” while the website states its goal as offering a simpler way for users to ask questions and get answers based on official government sources.
