What did the White House say on Biden’s lackluster performance in the US Presidential Debate?

The White House had a tough time answering questions pertaining to the US President’s performance during the first US Presidential debate. Joe Biden appeared to be lackluster and being unable to convince the voters to give him a second term in office. Experts pointed out that the incumbent president lacked energy, had a weak tone and tenor and was uninspiring during the entire course of the debate. Meanwhile, the White House also dismissed suggestions to replace Biden as the official nominee of the Democratic party in the upcoming US Presidential Election. The main point which has been attributed to Biden’s ‘disastrous’ performance was a ‘cold’.

They pointed out that President Joe Biden was suffering from ‘cold’ and this had impacted his performance in the debate. His tone and tenor were weak and it is natural that anyone would find it difficult to speak in such conditions. However, Biden’s critics pointed out that the president’s health is actually a cause of concern and they disagreed with the White House.

It was also reported that President Biden had tested negative for COVID. It could have led to the postponement of the debate had he tested positive.

Biden’s health:

Many have pointed out that Biden is ill and he has various health concerns. More than 50 law makers who met him recently have pointed towards a ‘cognitive’ decline. He has also fallen on multiple occasions, some while climbing stair cases. Most recently, he was seen wandering away during the G-7 summit in Italy.

During the debate, the president was unable to concentrate and also found it difficult to speak coherently. At one of time even Trump remarked that Biden’s comments were incomprehensible and even Biden may have not understood what he was saying.
