Scientists are giving warning to the mass regarding a new virus which is discovered in China. It is spreading to humans through tick bites and it has high potential to cause problems in the brain. The virus is reportedly called Wetland Virus.

Orthonairovirus Buzz in China

Initially, the Wetland virus was detected in a man who is 61 year old. He was bitten by ticks at a park in a large wetland in northern China. According to the Live Science reports, the unidentified patient suffered a fever, a headache and bouts of vomiting for five days after his visit. The case which was disclosed in June,2019, got a detailed analysis last week in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The newly discovered virus got a scientific name which is Orthonairovirus. The name is very specific as it is related to tick-borne viruses. The Chinese researchers are all set to start their mission to search for ticks and animals which are consisting of the virus.

Orthonairovirus Symptoms

As per the Live Science, in China, the virus was detected in the 17 patients of a hospital, who had developed symptoms within a month of a tick-bite. Even few sheep, horses, pigs and rodents are also affected by this stringent virus.

In lab mice, the brain got affected due to a deadly infection led by the virus. Fever, dizziness, headache, malaise, arthritis, back pain and nausea are attacking the humans. A person who went into coma has encountered with a pressing issue related to high white blood cell count in the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. The virus is damaging the tissue and caused blood clotting. But there is a ray of hope as all patients are getting recovered. They were getting discharged within 4 to 15 days of their treatment.
