Wednesday Season 2 is back. Netflix has confirmed the return of Wednesday with its second season. The show will be released in two parts starting in August 2025. Fans will see the return of Jenna Ortega and other core characters, along with new cast members and more horror elements in the storyline.

Wednesday Season 2 Release Date, Episode Schedule

Wednesday season 2 will premiere in two parts on Netflix.

• Part 1 will release on Wednesday, 6th August 2025
• Part 2 will follow on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025

The announcement came via a teaser trailer that also confirmed the release schedule.

Wednesday Season 2 Filming

Season 2 filming took place in Ireland. Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes photo of Jenna Ortega and confirmed the wrap with the caption: "Rest in Production. That’s a wrap on Season 2."

Showrunner Miles Millar said he and co-creator Alfred Gough hope for more seasons. They have prepared three to four seasons of potential storylines. Future story development will depend on character growth and audience response.

Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams. Returning cast includes:

Ortega confirmed learning the cello again for season 2. Hunter Doohan returns as Tyler Galpin despite earlier uncertainty. Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe, will not return following his exit from the show.

Wednesday Season 2 Storyline

Season 2 picks up where season 1 ended. Wednesday begins tracking the Kansas City Scalper after mastering her psychic abilities. A flashback reveals her childhood interest in the case.

Her visions begin to glitch, forcing her return to Nevermore Academy. Tyler Galpin may assist her in escaping from Willowhill psychiatric hospital. Showrunner Alfred Gough confirmed her powers will remain central to the season.

The plot will explore new dangers while reducing romance. Ortega said there will be no romantic subplot this season.

Showrunners aim to increase horror and include more of the Addams Family. Pugsley will join Nevermore Academy. Millar said they plan to explore Wednesday’s dynamic with Morticia and other family members further.

Themes of friendship will expand. Gough and Millar want to complicate Wednesday’s relationships and deepen the storyline following the school's closure in season 1.

Ortega continues to influence the character's direction. She has changed lines to better match Wednesday’s personality and choreographed her own scenes.
