Watch: 'Tekken 8' trailer flaunts Lars Alexandersson as latest addition

The previous Tekken 8 trailers have mostly showcased characters, who have already been unveiled in some capacity. However, the latest trailer highlights a new addition to the roster, Lars Alexandersson, who had not been confirmed as a playable character until now.



In the trailer, Lars showcases a variety of his signature moves that players may be familiar with, some of which are infused with lightning due to his Mishima heritage. Additionally, Lars also utilizes the new Heat system in Tekken 8, providing players with more options for combat during fights.


Lars, who is half-Swedish and half-Japanese, was first introduced in Tekken 6 and is the latest character to be announced for Tekken 8. He is the son of Heihachi and therefore, the half-brother of Kazuya. As seen in other family-themed trailers, Lars can be observed in his trailer engaging in combat with Kazuya and Jack the robot.

Although a list of characters have been already revealed, the release date is still nowhere to be found. The production company is expected to provide a release window soon.

The Tekken series was initiated by Japanese video game developer Namco in 1994 with the release of the first entry, which shared the same name. Over the years, the franchise has expanded significantly, with nine additional main entries, eight spin-off games, and adaptations into various other media, including three feature films.
