Watch: Rat disturbs man’s sleep on New York subway. See what happened

Dozing off while traveling after a tiring day at work is usual. But the experience was a little different for a person traveling on New York's subway recently as a rat crawled over him when he was sleeping while going towards his destination.

The man got startled while the fellow passengers were scared due to the presence of the rodent in the train.

The viral video was posted on Twitter by @Jazzie654. The undated clip, which is 22-second-long, also had a caption that said that he didn't realize there are rats on NY Subways or any Subway.


In the video, a rat appears in the train coach out of nowhere and starts to climb the legs of a passenger, who was fast asleep and unaware of what's happening. Then, the rat went on to sniff his hand and moved all over his shoulders.

As the rat climbs on the man's neck, he realizes something is crawling over him and wakes up to get startled by seeing the rodent on his body. But then, he calmly stands up and removes the rodent from his body.


The clip has gone viral and has got over 737,400 views, 3,200 likes and 613 comments.

The clip of the incident seems to have stunned and creeped out some users on the internet. Some people said that they haven't spotted rats on a train, but had definitely seen them regularly on the tracks, platforms and tunnels. A user said that OMG! We have seen rats on the subway tracks but never in the subway car. Yikes!

The man's calm demeanor has also shocked some users. A person said that the man was surprisingly calm. If I would have been in his place, I may have jumped off the train.
