On Monday, thousands of people fled a wildfire along the Washington-Oregon border, fueled by hot weather for the Pacific Northwest. According to officials, the Nakia Creek Fire, which began on October 9 in Vancouver, Washington, has burned around 2,000 acres.
The Nakia Creek fire is near Camas, Washington, 20 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon. Officials in Clark County reported that the fire was 5 per cent contained as of Sunday evening.
According to the Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency, as of Sunday evening, occupants of more than 2,900 properties had been issued a "Level 3 Go Now" notice urging them to evacuate.
