The truth behind the alleged arrest of Drake in Sweden is out. Canadian rapper and singer Drake is a well-known personality and has enviable fan-following around the world. So when reports of his alleged arrest spread like wildfire on July 13, his supporters immediately started trending the hashtag "Free Drake."

According to the news, he was allegedly charged with possessing marijuana. Along with Drake, several other artistes like BandmanKevo, Paper Lovee, 9lokkNine and Polo G were also allegedly arrested under different charges.

However, several authorities confirmed that Drake was not under custody. A number of journalists claimed that the news was only a rumour and that Drake was free. Another Hollywood report stated that Drake's team had confirmed that he was in a hotel in Sweden and had not been arrested.


A Daily Beast journalist tweeted that he confirmed with the Swedish cops that Drake is definitely not under custody. However, there might be an incident which the cops refused to confirm.

Drake, himself, did not confirm the news of the arrest. He has also not been clear about his visit to Sweden either.
