‘Virgin River’ Season 6 is all set to go into production in 2024

Virgin River, slated for a new season on Netflix, faced delays in production since its renewal in 2023. Originally set to commence filming during the summer, plans were thwarted by Hollywood strikes. Following the resolution of the strikes, indications emerged that production would kick off in early 2024.

Now, confirmed production dates have been announced, marking the initiation of filming on February 2nd, 2024, and continuing until May 17th, 2024. The series remains faithful to its Canadian backdrop, exclusively filmed in British Columbia. Various locations in BC, such as Langley, Burnaby, Maple Ridge, Squamish, New Westminster, and Vancouver, contribute to the show's visual diversity.

Both ProductionWeekly and the DGC of British Columbia affirm the series' February filming start, with the latter's production list sheet revealing the opening of the new season's office in January 2024, operating under the name Sea To Sea Productions ULC.


While directorial details for the upcoming season are yet to be disclosed, the New Year is expected to unveil the names associated with the project. Neil Williams takes on the role of production manager for the upcoming season.

As for the eagerly anticipated release date, it remains early to predict, but with filming concluding by mid-2024, there's a possibility that the new season might grace Netflix before the year's end, though the timeline's progression will determine the actual outcome.
