As per Fox59 the employee was Tikerra Hicks, who came back from the bathroom when the group of women started beating her up. It showed that one other employee tried to hold back the attacker, but the mob continued to beat Hicks.
Why was she attacked?
Hicks explained to reporters that the assault appeared to be a case of mistaken identity. The Walmart employee shared that she was receiving calls from the female friend for the last few days, but Hicks could not understand why she was attacked on Friday.
She told Fox News that one of her friends accused her other friend of rape a few years ago. Hicks distanced herself from it and said that she was not involved in the alleged rape, and she did not "protect" nor "defend" that friend who reportedly committed the crime.
“(The alleged rape) have nothing to do with me,” as per Hicks, cited by the outlet. “I wasn’t there, even if it did happen, to protect he. And I wasn’t there to defend him either,” she added.
One eyewitness, Kind Butler, explained to Fox59 that he heard the family of the alleged victim attempting to locate someone in the store who might have been involved in the assault just moments before the attack occurred.
“There wasn’t any questioning, no anything,” Butler said. “Just as soon as they saw the girl, the whole family came over and started beating her up..'
