Reports on the Investigation
Jimmy Damante, Crawford County Sheriff, announced two county deputies would be placed on administrative leave. At the same time, the Arkansas State Police and the Sheriff's Office conducted their respective internal investigations into the event. Damante stated that he holds all his staff responsible for their deeds and will take proper action in this case. In addition, a Mulberry office was also suspended.
According to Shannon Gregory, Mulberry Police Chief, the officer responsible for the encounter is on suspension until the resolution of the investigation. Gregory stated that Mulberry City and the Police Department of Mulberry take these inquiries extremely seriously.
The use of force in Worcester's arrest is under investigation, the State Police of Arkansas announced late on Sunday. According to a statement from state police, the investigation will be restricted to the officers' use of force or violence.
The Court will Determine Whether the Use of Force was per Arkanas Law.
The statement did not specify the concerned police and directed inquiries to the relevant departments. The state police statement stated that Worcester was transferred to a nearby hospital for inspection and treatment, later released and incarcerated at Van Buren.
