Robles, who was on a rehab assignment with Seattle's Triple-A affiliate in Tacoma, was immediately ejected from the rehab game Sunday night.
According to Yahoo, Robles’ suspension will take effect once he is activated from the injured list, as it must be served while with the Mariners. The length of his rehab assignment in Tacoma remains uncertain, and he is expected to appeal the suspension.
Robles, who was nearly clipped on the right shoulder by the pitch, lost his composure and flung the bat in the pitcher’s direction and began walking toward the mound, prompting an immediate ejection as teammates stepped in to restrain him.
The nine-year MLB veteran later issued an apology on social media, explaining that the recent loss of his mother, combined with the frustration of being hit by pitches four times during his rehab assignment, led to his outburst.
