The incident occurred during Robles' fourth minor league assignment for Triple-A Tacoma against the Aviators in Las Vegas, as he worked his way back from injury.
Robles, who was nearly clipped on the right shoulder by the pitch, lost his composure and flung the bat in the pitcher’s direction and began walking toward the mound, prompting an immediate ejection as teammates stepped in to restrain him.
The incident quickly went viral on social media, with Robles drawing heavy criticism for his outburst. His frustration stemmed from an unusual streak - he had been hit by pitches in seven straight games, including three times in a row during the series against Las Vegas.
League officials are set to review the incident, and a suspension is considered likely. Since Major League Baseball (MLB) oversees all suspensions, it remains unclear whether Robles would serve the penalty at the big-league level.
