Verizon sends urgent message to users — what it means for millions right now
Verizon has warned customers that prices for one of its popular perks are going up. The company said its bundle that includes HBO Max and Netflix will cost more soon. The bundle price will increase by $3 per month starting May 6. The plan with ads for both streaming services will rise from $10 to $13 a month. Verizon said the bundle will still save users $6.98 a month compared to buying both subscriptions separately. However, this means the savings drop by $2 compared to the current deal.

The bundle is offered as a perk for customers who have high-tier internet plans. This includes people with unlimited mobile data plans. It also applies to users of 5G Home internet plans. Customers with Verizon Home Internet Lite are also eligible. Some high-speed Fios Home Internet users can also get this bundle. Verizon said the bundle still offers savings even after the price increase.

An HBO Max Basic with Ads plan alone costs $10.99 per month. Netflix Standard with Ads now costs $8.99 per month. Streaming services have been increasing prices across the industry. Netflix raised its ads-supported plan from $7.99 to $8.99 on March 26.

Overall, Netflix prices have gone up by 150% over the past 13 years, as stated by Bloomberg. HBO Max also increased prices after CEO David Zaslav said the service was “way underpriced.” In September 2025, HBO Max raised all subscription tiers by $1. The ads-supported HBO Max tier increased from $9.99 to $10.99 at that time.

HBO Max price increase

Verizon CEO Dan Schulman previously admitted that price hikes have hurt customers. Dan Schulman said Verizon’s high churn rate is partly because prices keep rising without added value. Schulman also said this is the main reason customers leave the service. He added that the company should stop raising prices without improving value. Schulman revealed Verizon has seen 2.25 million fewer new net customers in the last three years.
