In a brief statement on social media, Venmo acknowledged the disruption and confirmed its technical team is working to restore full functionality. The company assured to provide an update at the earliest once system issues are resolved.

"We're aware that some users are experiencing issues with Venmo right now. Our team is working on a fix, and we'll update you as soon as it's resolved. Thanks for your patience," the company posted on X.

Venmo, the PayPal-owned peer-to-peer payment service, experienced a major outage on Wednesday, affecting more than 50,000 users at its peak, according to outage tracker Downdetector. Frustrated customers flooded social media and online forums during the downtime, reporting failed transactions and delays that disrupted essential payments, including medical bills and dinner orders.
