Vanderpump Rules: Is a reboot still happening? Here’s what James Kennedy revealed

As talks about Vanderpump Rules heat up, James Kennedy has addressed recent rumors about a potential reboot of the popular reality series.

As discussions about Vanderpump Rules swirl, James Kennedy has responded to recent rumors suggesting a reboot of the popular reality series. The speculation began when a Bravo fan account on Instagram shared a post claiming that the show’s upcoming Season 12 would be its last before a complete reboot focusing on servers from Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants.

The fan account's post read: “Vanderpump Rules to allegedly end with its next season which films in October. After a final farewell, the show will go back into filming SURvers from Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants as a total reboot.”

Kennedy, known for his outspoken personality, took to the comments section to dismiss the rumors with a playful remark. He commented, “Y’all think you have it all figured out, huh,” suggesting that the circulating claims were unfounded, as mentioned in a report by Decider.

Current Status of Vanderpump Rules

Vanderpump Rules first premiered in 2013, offering viewers an inside look at the drama among a group of friends working at Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurant, SUR. Although the series originally focused on the day-to-day lives of the SUR staff, the cast has evolved over the years.

The current lineup no longer includes original members Stassi Schroeder, Jax Taylor, and Kristen Doute, and the remaining cast members are no longer employed at SUR.

The show has faced significant changes in recent seasons, particularly following the breakup between Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix in March 2023. The split, triggered by Madix discovering Sandoval’s affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, led to further tension within the cast.

The fallout from the affair strained relationships, especially between Madix and her former close friends Lala Kent and Scheana Shay. During Season 11, Kent and Shay were critical of Madix for her refusal to film with Sandoval, leading to additional discord.

Production Status and Cast Sentiments

Filming for Season 12 of Vanderpump Rules has been put on hold, and a start date for production remains unconfirmed. Katie Maloney, another star of the show, voiced her uncertainty about the show's future during a July 2 episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.
