The new console, according to Valve Corp., will use the SteamOS interface and is six times as powerful as the Steam Deck. It will support 4K resolutions at 60 frames per second. Steam Deck is the popular handheld gaming device from the closely held Bellevue, Washington-based company.
Valve new Steam machine and controller: Price and launch date
The company said on Wednesday (November 12, 2025) that it has not finalized the price of the new console, which is reportedly set to launch by early 2026.
“We’ve been super happy with the success of Steam Deck, and a lot of the feedback we’ve received from gamers about it is what encouraged us to expand the options for Steam users,” Valve said in a statement, as quoted by Bloomberg.
Steam Machine and Controller: Features and What to Expect
Following its launch, the Steam Machine will be available in two models: 512GB and 2TB. Customers will also have the option to buy it either as a standalone or in a bundle with a new Steam-branded controller.
Steam games are available on the new machine
More than 40 million daily active players already use Valve's digital platform, Steam, which has enjoyed significant success. According to Bloomberg, customers will be able to access their Steam games on the new machine.
On Wednesday, Valve also revealed its plans for the Steam Frame. It is a new virtual-reality headset that will ship around the same time as the Steam Machine and will also run on SteamOS.
