The Virginia wide receiver, Lavel Davis, is a victim, with two others, in a mass shootout Sunday night on the University of Virginia campus. The conditions of two others who were injured are unknown now.

What happened on Sunday night?
According to UVA sources, a shootout happened on the campus grounds around 10.30 pm Sunday night. Not much is known at this stage regarding the probable cause of the incident. However, University authorities indicate that the alleged killer could be one of their students, Christopher Daniel Jones. Jr., who is yet to be traced. The University Police have taken Jones into custody. The 22-year-old Davis had played his last match on Saturday, just hours before he was killed in the shooting. The alleged gunman Jones is said to be a former Cavaliers football player.
A traumatic Monday morning at the campus
The UVA president released an emotional message early Monday morning, expressing how the incident devastated him. As a result, the University has cancelled the Monday classes and has made the University's Counseling and Psychological services operate round-the-clock.
