USPS changes: Here’s everything you need to know about new US Postal Service pricing

In July, there will be modifications to the mail services for Americans, as the U.S. Postal Service implements new pricing at the beginning of this month.

Effective July 9, there will be a 3-cent increase in the price of a Forever Stamp, raising it from 63 cents to 66 cents. The purpose of this increase, as stated by USPS, is to compensate for the inflationary rise.

Furthermore, the cost of sending a domestic postcard will rise to 51 cents, while mailing a 1-ounce letter to another country will increase to $1.50. The prices for a single-piece letter and the additional-ounce price for flats will remain unchanged at 24 cents.

Beginning in July, there will be adjustments in the pricing for various mail services. The cost of Forever Stamps will rise from 63 cents to 66 cents, while the price for a 1-ounce letter will also increase to 66 cents. Additionally, the rate for a 1-ounce metered letter will go up from 60 cents to 63 cents. For domestic postcards, the new price will be 51 cents, reflecting an increase from the previous 48 cents. Furthermore, sending a 1-ounce letter to another country will cost $1.50, up from the previous rate of $1.45. Similarly, the cost of mailing postcards to another country will also increase to $1.50.

USPS Ground Advantage Program


Beginning Sunday, July 9, the Postal Service will introduce its new Ground Advantage plan, replacing previous plans like Ground Returns, Retail Ground, First-Class Package, Parcel Select Ground, and First Class Package Return. Here's what these changes entail for you:

Enjoy the convenience of free package pickup service at your home or office.

Tracking will be included for all shipments.
Each package will come with $100 insurance coverage, and additional coverage of up to $5,000 can be purchased if desired.
Expect your packages to be delivered within 2 to 5 business days.
Retail customers will experience a cost reduction of over 3%, while commercial prices will be approximately 1% cheaper.
