US weather update: Flood advisory issued for parts of Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard; Details here
According to a tweet from the National Weather Service, the occurrence of consecutive storms has begun, potentially heightening the possibility of flooding.

It is not uncommon during the summer months in the metropolitan region for showers and storms, occasionally intense, to develop due to the heat of the day.
The National Weather Service alerted via Twitter that these storms are exhibiting a "training" pattern, which has the potential to increase the risk of flooding.
During the weekend, the city encountered instances of street flooding caused by heavy rainfall that emerged suddenly and lingered for an extended period.

Additionally, the National Weather Service has announced the implementation of a heat advisory for Wednesday, July 12 spanning from 10 AM to 8 PM. This advisory specifically applies to parishes in southeast Louisiana, where hazardous heat index values of approximately 110 are anticipated. It is recommended to take regular breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas, stay hydrated by consuming ample water, even if not feeling thirsty, and ensure the well-being of elderly individuals, sick neighbors, and family members. Furthermore, it is advisable to bring pets indoors or offer them shade and an adequate supply of water.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast for Wednesday, there will be a slight decrease in rain chances compared to previous days. However, there remains a possibility of a few locally strong or heavy thunderstorms. Aside from that, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy, with temperatures rising into the mid-90s.
