Gains for UPS and PayPal following strong profit reports helped offset losses for Royal Caribbean and D.R. Horton. Moves were relatively modest in the bond market ahead of a few events that could shake things up. That includes Wednesday’s decision on interest rates by the Federal Reserve. Gold’s price continued to struggle following what’s been a stellar year.
On Tuesday, the S&P 500 rose 15.73 points, or 0.2%, to 6,890.89. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 161.78 points, or 0.3%, to 47,706.37. The Nasdaq composite rose 190.04 points, or 0.8%, to 23,827.49. The Russell 2000 index of smaller companies fell 13.78 points, or 0.5%, to 2,506.65.

On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 4:15 PM ET, the NASDAQ's top gainers and decliners showed dramatic swings. Among the most advanced stocks, RNWWW (ReNew Energy Global plc) surged by +240.78%, leading the pack. VSEEW (VSee Health, Inc.) followed closely with a +244.0625% jump, while SRZNW (Surrozen, Inc.) rose +68.54%. XBPEW (XBP Europe Holdings, Inc.) gained +73.6111%, and SABSW (SAB Biotherapeutics, Inc.) climbed +76.01%.
In contrast, the most declining stocks took heavy hits. CODX (Co-Diagnostics, Inc.) plummeted -54.7619%, marking the steepest drop. Nuveen Global High Income Fund (JGH) fell -47.3684%, and AMBP (Ardagh Metal Packaging S.A.) declined -39.759%. FMFC (Kandal M Venture Limited Class A Ordinary Shares) dropped -34.9231%, with ADTX (Aditxt, Inc.) closing out the losers at -32.5258%.
