U.S. Stock Market indexes are set for a lackluster opening today as futures are mixed ahead of Tuesday's normal trading hours. S&P 500 futures were down by 0.09 per cent to 7,851.25, Nasdaq futures slipped big by 223 points or 0.72 per cent to 30,675. Dow Jones futures were up by 356 points or 0.68 per cent to 52,466 and Russell 2000 futures rose 8.10 points or 0.29 per cent to 2,820.

This comes as investors carefully go through quarterly results from big US banks that kick off the earnings season, while weakness in chip stocks weighed on Nasdaq futures.

Stocks to Watch Out on Tuesday

JPMorgan Chase posted a rise in third-quarter profit on growth in investment banking and trading. Profit at Wells Fargo rose in the same quarter, helped by loan book growth and higher interest income. JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo shares, however, slipped 3.4 per cent and 1 per cent, respectively, in premarket trading.

Futures tied to the blue-chip Dow pared earlier advances, but remained in positive territory on the back of gains in UnitedHealth. The health insurer climbed 2 per cent after raising its 2026 profit forecast as it tightened spending on medical costs and improved margins in some units.

Johnson & Johnson dipped 2.7 per cent despite reporting a third-quarter profit slightly above expectation.

Earnings for the S&P 500 for the July-September quarter are expected to grow 30.6 per cent, with technology and energy companies expected to gain the most, according to data compiled by LSEG. However, US chipmakers came under pressure again after a selloff on Monday, with analysts pointing to reports around technological advances made by China's CXMT.

Chip giant Nvidia shed 1 per cent while AMD and Marvell Technology eased 1.5 per cent and 2.6 per cent, respectively.

Memory chipmaker Micron Technology dipped 3.2 per cent while data storage companies Western Digital, Seagate and Sandisk dropped between 3.2 per cent and 4.8 per cent.
