US ‘sacks’ London diplomat as a joke ahead of crucial World Cup match with England
Before tonight's game versus England, the US embassy in London joked about firing a London ambassador for supporting the Three Lions.

Another diplomat adds, "Look, dude, he doesn't know why he needs to tell him, but he was an American." He stated that he could not support England because he works for the US embassy. He was going to require him to take down the decorations and remove the shirt, and he didn't want to have to call him up again. Mr Snipe agrees, stating, "OK, excellent talk."
However, he removes his England jersey, displaying an England shirt underneath. The US embassy tweeted the video with the statement, "We are sad to announce the resignation of our spokesman Aaron Snipe, but some things are more important than diplomacy."
