Instead, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear (D) endorsed Vice President Harris for president. Participating in MSNBC's 'Morning Joe', he announced her support for the first black vice president. He said he fully endorsed Vice President Harris for the next president of the United States. He said further the vice president is smart and strong which will make her a good president. Praising her, Beshear said that Kamala Harris is also kind and has empathy, which can make her a great president.

Beshear defeated a Trump-backed Republican challenger to win reelection last year in a state that former President Trump won in 2016 and 2020.

Kamala Harris snubbed Beshear on Monday when she began vetting possible running mates, sending materials to several potential candidates to join her on the ticket and the Kentucky governor was not among those people. According to the 'Wall Street Journal', her campaign team sent vetting materials to North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Senator Mark Kelly, D-Ariz.

Talking to CNN, Beshear confirmed that he had not received any vetting materials.
