Kamala Harris:
The incumbent Vice-President may be the perfect candidate to replace Biden for these four reasons. Firstly, she finds support among large sections of women and people of color who are considered to be the core supporters of the Democrats. Secondly, she has held administrative positions in California and in Washington and has the required political acumen and administrative capabilities to steer the Democrats towards securing a victory.Thirdly, she can outperform Trump in various debates and still has the time to build support for her candidature. Lastly, many believe that Biden’s supporters within the Democrats will support her candidature. The two contested the elections together in 2020.
Challenges:

Another challenge will be to convince the voters who see her as part of Biden’s team and may find it difficult to vote for someone whose performance may have not been up to the mark. Also Read: US Independence Day 2024: Will stock markets stay open on Fourth of July?
