US Presidential Election 2024: Kamala Harris will be the winner, says poll

Though Donald Trump has started hitting hard at Kamala Harris and challenged her on many issues like abortion, immigration, Israel and many more others, a majority of the US voters believe that the vice president would emerge victorious in the US Presidential Election 2024. In a survey conducted by The Economist/YouGov between August 4 and 6, 40% of American voters said they believe Kamala Harris will win the November 5 election. On the other hand, 38% of the 1,618 respondents believe the Republican candidate will be the winner.

'Newsweek' has reported that it is for the first time since October 2023 that a majority of US voters have said in the most unequivocal terms, though with a small margin, that Donald Trump will lose to either presumptive Democrat candidate Kamala Harris or Joe Biden, who has pulled out of the race and endorsed vice president instead. Only one week earlier, Trump enjoyed a 42% to 35% lead. Harris's chances of winning the Presidential Election have gone up after the enthusiasm among Democrat voters increased. A total of 60% of Democrat voters have said that they would go to vote on November 5, while 58% of Republican voters have demonstrated such enthusiasm.

The weekly news magazine has reported that the enthusiasm among the GOP voters has come down by 9% compared to the polls held between July 27 and 30 when 67% of Americans felt "very or extremely enthusiastic" for the election. The data
compiled by RealClearPolitics, The Economist, and FiveThirtyEight suggest that Harris was leading all major surveys on Monday.

However, the race for the US Presidential Election 2024 is still close. It is evident by the fact that in RealClearPolitics' report, Harris was leading Trump by just 0.2 %, while according to FiveThirtyEight, she has a lead of only 2%.
