In the July 2024 Daily Kos/Civiqs Poll held after Joe Biden pulled out and endorsed the vice president, Kamala Harris led the former president 49% to 45% in a nationwide 2024 election matchup. She also received strong support from Democrats with 95% backing her and Black voters with 86% supporting her. Kamala Harris enjoys a substantial 55% to 33% lead among voters in the age group of 18-34 years. With this, it is clear the presumptive Democrat has a lead over Donald Trump for the US Presidential Election 2024.

Democratic voters happy with Biden's decision

The opinion poll also found that a large majority of Democratic voters (64%) are happy with incumbent president's decision to step aside in favor of his vice president. About 11% of Democrats wish Joe Biden running for the White House once again. It was found in the survey that about 55% of Americans are happy that Joe Biden quit the race while 19% wish he was still running, including 30% of Republicans.

43% have favorable opinion of Kamala Harris

The July 2024 Daily Kos/Civiqs Poll also found that about 43% of voters have a favorable opinion of Kamala Harris, while 51% have an unfavorable opinion about her. On the other hand, as many as 42% of voter have a favorable opinion for Donald Trump while 56% have an unfavorable opinion. Besides, about 45% of Americans think the Republican candidate will win the US Presidential Election 2024 while 42% expect Kamala Harris to win it. Besides, 14% of voters are not sure or think someone else may win the November election.
