In a series of posts on X, Longwell stated that the focus group accepted that Harris won the debate. She didn't reveal the specific states and party registration of the participants, while the participants were from the competitive states where election can be won by the major party. The focus group featured people who have casted their vote both for and against Donald Trump over the last elections where the states were closely divided and shifted from red to blue in recent elections. The states which match those criteria are Arizona, Georgia, Michigan Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as specified in the report of Alternate.

Sarah Longwell also posted about the reactions of participants on X, including 7 of them felt worst regarding Trump, 2 and 1 have not observed any change after the debate and 8 got a better feeling about Harris. Far-right Pundit Ben Shapiro gave his reaction through a tweet that this debate will not change the entire political scenario because now also people are not aware regarding Kamala Harris's position and Donald Trump is still a leading figure. Longwell who initiated the Republican voters against Trump replied Shapiro based on her own observation. She stated that she is strictly against the former president Donald Trump. Even, she accepted that president Joe Biden's debate was not upto the mark in a debate with Trump hosted by CNN.
