And if you can’t get there until the end of the day, you can still vote as long as you’re in line by 8 p.m.

What time do voting polls open and close in Pennsylvania?

Polling places across the commonwealth are scheduled to stay open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you’re already in line at closing time, stay there. You’re allowed to cast your ballot even if the line moves past 8 p.m, so you don’t have to worry about the closing of the polling station if you are in the queue. The Pennsylvania Department of State says mornings and evenings are usually the busiest times, according to a report by CBS.

What ID do you need to vote in Pennsylvania?

You need to bring an approved form of identification if you’re voting in your election district for the first time. If you have already voted in that district, you generally don’t need to show ID again but still keep a proof of identification with you.

You can take your Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID card for verification. A U.S. passport also works. Pennsylvania also accepts employee IDs and student IDs which include digital student cards. If you are taking a non-photo ID then it must show your name and address clearly. For example: You can take a current bank statement or utility bill with the name and address mentioned on it. Your county voter registration card is also an option.

How do you find your Pennsylvania polling place?

Use Pennsylvania’s "official polling place lookup" to check the location tied to your registered address. Go to the site assigned to your precinct. If the result lists a ward or division, keep it handy. More than one precinct may use the same building.

Where can you drop off a Pennsylvania mail ballot?

Your county election office must receive your completed mail ballot by 8 p.m. on Election Day. A postmark won’t meet the deadline. Return it to your county election office or use a county-designated drop box if one is available.

Poll workers cannot accept a completed mail ballot for return. If you haven’t returned yours and want to vote in person, bring the ballot and its outer return envelope. You can surrender both and sign a declaration to cast a regular ballot.
