US Men’s Soccer Team urges Taylor Swift’s support before World Cup match with England; Here's what they said
The social media account for the United States Men's National Team has urged Taylor Swift to choose country over love in a quirky post ahead of the World Cup match with England.

The USMNT account is making a desperate yet quirky plea before Friday's game against England. The post refers to Swift’s 2019 song "London Boy," whose lyrics describe leaving America for the English metropolis. Swift is also dating British actor Joe Alwyn.
The tweet triggered a wide range of reactions, many of which were reminiscent of Swift's song "You Need to Calm Down."
.@taylorswift13 we know you love your London Boy… but we’re gonna do our best to make Miss Americana proud today 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/q1kCDxbm4E

But the tweet accomplished its job and drew even more support for the club from Taylor Swift's followers. After all, Swift is the most important name in music, having recently been the first artist to have all of her singles chart at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
Swift, hopefully, will not react to the title of track 5 on her current album, "Midnights." "You're on Your Own, Kid," it says. Unless, of course, she informs her lover, Joe. Then we might all have to buy the Swift soccer shirt.
