US Justice Department seeks 6-month sentence for Donald Trump's ally Steve Bannon. Details here
Former President Donald Trump's former advisor Steve Bannon is seeking a delay and probation while the federal prosecutors intend to fine and imprison him for 6 Months.

According to a proposal submitted on Monday, federal prosecutors want Steve Bannon, a former senior strategist to former President Donald Trump, to get a six-month jail term for contempt of Congress.
The government is also asking for $200,000 in fines in addition to the sentence.
They claimed the probation officer did not receive his full cooperation throughout their pre-sentencing investigation. In July, a jury found Bannon guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress. He will be sentenced on Friday.
Bannon is requesting probation and asking to postpone the sentence pending his appeal. The former president's counsel was sought after by Bannon's lawyer to make an executive privilege claim.
Just before Bannon's contempt of Congress trial this summer, his attorney contacted the January 6 committee, according to the sentencing letter from the prosecution. According to the prosecution, the lawyer's goal was to persuade the committee to postpone and ultimately dismiss the case.
The sentencing letter also revealed new information concerning Robert Costello, a lawyer for Bannon, and Justin Clark, a lawyer for Trump, last year. Using a letter from Clark as support, Costello had written to the committee asserting that Trump was using executive privilege to exclude Bannon's testimony.
However, Clark had informed Costello that Bannon's executive privilege was not asserted in the letter.
