The 2024 US elections will finally see the inception of the general polls of November 5, after the early voting phase and the mail-in ballots, all of which have the power of deciding the next leader of the free world. The US elections is, this time, reporting a huge outcome of voters, and with different states having different kinds of voting procedures and deadlines, the timings of poll closing in each state will differ extensively throughout the US.

Reports suggest that the mail-in votes in multiple states will give Kamala Harris a major advantage in the US elections right at the beginning. Although that turnout will soon be crossed in the general counting, but the initial boost is like a confidence-riser for any party.

US polls start time and end time across key states

There are different starting off times in different key US regions, even in the key battleground states. For starters, in Alabama, polling booths open at 8am ET, followed by 11am/noon ET in Alaska. In Arizona, which is an important electoral state, polls open at 8am ET, and close at 9pm ET.

In Arkansas and California, polling starts off at 8.30 am ET and 10 am ET respectively, with the closing time of both the polls being 8.30 pm ET and 11pm ET.

In Connecticut, polling begins quite early at 6 am ET, closing down at 8pm ET, while Colombia and Florida will see polling booths open at 7am/8am ET, closing exactly 12 hours later.

Maryland, Michigan and Massachusetts will see polls begin at 7am ET, with closing time reportedly set for 8 pm ET.
