US Dollar in trouble — Bitcoin, gold, and silver surge as safe havens, says expert
Bitcoin, gold, and silver prices are reaching all-time highs as investors look for safe assets amid the US dollar collapse. The US dollar has lost about 10% of its value since the start of 2025. Investors are moving money away from the dollar and buying hard assets like gold, silver, and Bitcoin, which Griffin calls a “debasement trade”, said Ken Griffin while speaking to Bloomberg.

Griffin added, “We’re seeing substantial asset inflation away from the dollar as people are looking for ways to effectively de-dollarize, or de-risk their portfolios vis-a-vis US sovereign risk.”

Bitcoin price rally and safe asset demand

Bitcoin went up to over $126,000, and gold and silver prices also went higher. The price rally is happening as markets expect possible Federal Reserve interest rate cuts this month, along with the ongoing federal government shutdown, as per the report by Coinspeaker.

Griffin added that US fiscal and monetary policies now resemble those usually seen in a recession, which is boosting demand for safe assets.

US dollar falls, investors move to hard assets

The US dollar’s dominance as the world’s reserve currency has dropped to 56.3% in Q2 2025, the lowest since 1994. Since 2000, the dollar’s share of global reserves has fallen by 16 points, down from 85% in 1977.

Analysts warn that the dollar’s share could fall below 50% within five years if the current trend continues. The Kobeissi Letter explained,“Safe havens, risky assets, real estate, crypto, global bond yields, and everything in between is hitting daily record highs, as stated in the report by Coinspeaker.

The denominator for most assets, in this case the US Dollar, is what has changed. The US Dollar is on track for its worst year in 40+ years, down -10% YTD.” Bitcoin ETFs are seeing huge inflows, with BlackRock’s IBIT attracting nearly $1 billion on October 6, 2025.
