When a friend survived acute myeloid leukemia following a bone marrow transplant three years ago, Alsamarah decided to be a donor. Sharing his emotions after he donated the bone marrow, he said that he hoped it would inspire others.

The doctor said he hoped his message would reach people to raise awareness of the bone marrow donation program. "It will enrich the pool with more donors, and therefore more potential matches for those in need," he said.
