The US military officially confirmed a raid near the frontlines in north-east Syria targeting a senior ISIS official.

The US military raided a location near the frontlines in Syria. The Syrian government and Russia hold the area. Army Colonel Joe Buccino, the U.S.A. Central Command spokesperson, said that the Central Command (CENTCOM) forces targeted a senior ISIS official in a raid in northeast Syria and that more details would be released when the operational details are confirmed.
The state-run media also reported operations near the city of Qamishli in Syria. The United Kingdom-based monitor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that an unidentified male was killed near Moluk Saray. It also noted that the head of a local security headquarters and two families were arrested near Qamishli. The monitor stated that the man who was killed was likely to be a senior ISIS member and was an Iraqi national who refused to surrender.
