US Air quality alert remains as Canadian wildfires continue to rage

Air quality in the US has improved, but the alert continues due to the Canadian wildfire that is still raging.

The National Weather Service in the US has said that though the air conditions have improved a little bit, the alert will continue. It has also warned that the sky from the Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic will remain hazy due to the smoke emanating from Canadian wildfires.

The national agency predicted that the air quality will further deteriorate Friday in areas spanning Ohio, Michigan, Mid-Atlantic and north-eastern areas.

The National Weather Service also said that the low pressure causing the smoke-laden air from Canada will relax and it will blow in the north-eastern direction.

The direction of the wind will further shift to the west Saturday, the agency has predicted.

Earlier, the air condition of the north-eastern U.S. was declared hazardous Thursday due to the thick blanket of smoke it was carrying.

The areas stretching from New York to Washington were marked yellow and white on the weather map, indicating the air quality as ‘moderate’ to ‘unhealthy’.

Neighboring Canada is facing a massive disaster as hundreds of wildfires are raging in different parts of the country, displacing more than 200,000 people.

Joe Biden administration has sent hundreds of firefighters to the neighboring areas to help fight these wildfires.

But the experts have expressed concern that the problem may continue as the wildfires in Canada are still raging.
