US President Joe Biden’s personal physician Dr Kevin O’Connor dismissed reports pertaining to the ill health of the president. In a rare interaction with the press, he confirmed the good health of the president to the New York Post. The president has ended his election campaign and endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris after a visible decline in his health conditions. He will continue to remain in office till the end of his tenure.

This clarification by the president’s personal physician came amidst demands by the Republicans that Joe Biden resign as the president. Many law makers have called on Kamala Harris and the cabinet to invoke provisions of the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution.

Dr Kevin O’ Connor’s assessment:

He was asked two specific questions pertaining to Biden’s health. These questions were related to the ‘cognitive decline’ being experienced by the president and more seriously if he was suffering due to Parkinson’s disease.


The personal physician ruled out Parkinson’s and said that there were no symptoms that were detected. He also ruled out the visit of a neurologist to the White House had anything to do with the president health.

On the issue of a cognitive decline that has been visible since the first presidential debate, the doctor said that the president undergoes regular tests and there has been no cause for concern. He said that the present had excellent mental conditions.

The Republicans led by their presidential nominee has targeted Joe Biden and called on him to step down due to his health conditions. They have called on Vice-President Kamala Harris and the members of the cabinet to invoke provisions related to the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution.
