Margo Martin, the Special Assistant to the US President and Communications Advisor, in turn videographed the Qatari fighters and the pilot clicking the photo and video. She shared videos of both events on X.
She wrote, “F-15 pilot snapping a pic of Air Force One! .”
When fighter jets from host countries provide an escort, it is a ceremonial salute, a rare gesture reserved only for leaders held in the highest regard.
This follows a similar honor in Saudi Arabia the previous day, where six Royal Saudi Air Force F-15s accompanied Air Force One as it approached Riyadh.
These gestures underscore the importance that Gulf nations place on their relationship with the United States. The Royal Saudi Air Force operates the largest fleet of F-15s outside the US, emphasizing the strength of military ties between the two countries.
Trump’s Middle East Tour
President Trump's Middle East tour includes high-level meetings aimed at reinforcing strategic partnerships.
The tour has also seen significant economic engagements, including a $142 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia and a pledge of $600 billion in Saudi investments in the US.
Significance of Air Force One
It's more than a plane. It is a “flying White House”, a high-security command center that carries the President of the United States and represents American sovereignty wherever it flies.
