The injured victim is out of danger and has non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Associated Press. University police said the shooter has not been caught yet and may still be on campus.

UNM closes campus as police investigate shooting
Police found two people had been shot when they reached the scene—one was already dead. Around 6:30 a.m., the university posted a message online saying it was closing the Albuquerque central campus to stay safe, as per the reports.Students have been told to stay indoors, as the campus is currently under a shelter-in-place order. Even though the campus is closed, the Health Sciences Center remains open, including all clinical services, as per the Hindustan Times report.

The university said it was closing the campus “out of an abundance of caution.” Multiple law enforcement agencies are now on the scene and are actively investigating, according to the reports.
