University of Idaho murders: Suspect arrested in Pennsylvania

A person has been arrested for the killing of four students at the University of Idaho, Moscow. The detained suspect has been described as a 25-year-old man.

In the University of Idaho murders case, the roommates Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin were killed. The murder occurred during the early hours of November 13 at the girls’ off-campus house.

Two other roommates, who were present on the ground floor when the murder occurred on the second and third floor, were not considered as suspects. The police rule that these survivors may have slept through the murders and have no connection to the case.


The suspect has been arrested over 2,500 miles away from the crime site in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. He will now appear in court on Friday morning at 8:30 am. The news came from the Moscow Police Department that announced a press conference will be held at 4 pm ET.



The arrest came on the same day when a celebration of the lives of Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen, was due to be held at Lake City Church in Coeur d’Alene. A cleanup was also set to begin on the same day on King Road at the place where Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin, her boyfriend, were killed.

The arrest has come after six weeks of investigation. It has also been several weeks since the last news conference was held by the police. They were releasing updates on the investigation through social media until now.

The police have also urged the public to disclose any information that they may have regarding the case.
