United States Senate election North Carolina 2022: Elaine Hewitt pens Op-Ed, urges every Conservative to vote

Rowan County Republican Party chair Elaine Hewitt has penned an op-ed for the Salisbury Post, requesting all the conservatives to vote. Hewitt, who’s the Chairperson of the Rowan County Republican Party, wrote the op-ed as part of a campaign for Ted Budd and Dan Bishop, who is contesting for the US Senate and the US House, respectively.

Hewitt gave the conservative voters two choices. According to the op-ed, the first choice was to vote for policies that ensure freedom for all, economic stability, and national security. The second choice, per Hewitt, was to vote for policies that resulted in increased bureaucracy, uncontrolled inflation, and increased dependency on other countries.

She writes, 'We can first tackle it all by voting for Ted Budd for U.S. Senate and Dan Bishop for U.S. House.'




Ted Budd is the US Representative for the 13th congressional district of North Carolina, who is currently running for the US Senate from North Carolina. His website describes him as a family man, a small businessman, and a “liberal agenda crusher.” Ted Budd is fighting against the former chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, Cheri Beasley.


Dan Bishop is the US Representative for the 9th congressional district of North Carolina, who’s running for his re-election to the US Congress from the same district. Bishop is a former attorney and served as the Mecklenburg County Commissioner before running for the US Congress in 2014.
