Weather perils including the likes of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and multiple other doomsday scenarios could end up landing the economy of multiple countries in a major fix in the coming years, and the biggest hit is always taken by the United States, as its GDP drops by quite a few points after each natural calamity hits the nation or it's neighboring regions.

As per reports, the US economy loses nearly 0.4% of its GDP (USD 97 billion) in such scenarios, while countries like the Philippines lose 3% of its GDP (USD 12 billion) caused by the main four weather perils. This is a rather alarming figure for any country's national economy, and takes a lot of time in recovering steadily, says one of the world's largest insurance companies ever.
