Roy was sure he had not touched the ball with either bat or glove and challenged. The umpire went to the third umpire, but then realised that England did not have any reviews left. The English batsman held his ground and refused to leave angry at the on field umpires for the bad decision.

Missed winning runs: England went on to make the final but Roy was unable to be in the middle for the historic win. He also missed the chance to make an ODI centaury in an important match for his nation. He was fined 30 per cent of his match fee for showing dissent.

Another World Cup 2019 match, this time featuring India and the West Indies. The on field umpire got it right but it was a challenge that the third umpire seemed to have gotten wrong. The decision featured Indian batsman Rohit Sharma (R). Windies bowler Kemar Roach (L) seemed to have managed Sharma to give an inside-edge to the wicketkeeper. Umpire Richard Illingworth who was on field said not out but third umpire Michael Gough gave it out. Replays were inconclusive as was snicko that showed spikes but it was not clear if the ball touched the bat or pads.
