UN summit begins amid severe concerns over climate change crisis

The formal sessions of the 27th summit of the United Nations Conference of Parties (UN-COP) began at Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Over 45000 delegates are expected to participate.

The United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres of the COP 27 believes the earth is sending a “distress signal”. Against this backdrop of severe concerns regarding global climate, COP27 begins in Egypt's picturesque port city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
