UFC star Colby Covington criticized the decision made by USA Boxing to permit transgender female fighters to compete against women in the ring, given they meet certain criteria. On Thursday, Covington said on "Tomi Lahren is Fearless" on OutKick that his first reaction was that it was a PR stunt and that they did it since nobody cares anymore about USA Boxing.

What was Colby Covington's opinion about the decision?

According to Colby Covington, biological men have no place in women's sports. He also shared how he cannot imagine being a woman his entire life with an equitable playing field, in competition with other women. And suddenly it is being said that biological men will be allowed to compete in their sports. It is not ethical, is menacing and he does not wish to see anybody getting killed. He said: "We are required to alter this and need to be holding the line, without letting this happen."

As per Covington, the No 1 problem that is talked about by boxing commissions is the safety of the fighters. He pondered on how the trans inclusion in women's boxing rules sticks to that idea.

Amanda Serrano and Ebanie Bridges, the boxing champions as well as Claressa Shields, the gold medalist, also gave their opinion against the policy.

According to USA Boxing, a fighter who made a transition from male to female, is eligible to be competing in the female category given the numerous conditions mentioned in the rulebook:

"The boxer is identified as a female and further has completed his gender reassignment surgery. The fighter has undergone hormone testing every quarter, giving the organization’s documents of hormone levels for a minimum period of four years. The testosterone levels of the fighter have been under 5 nanomoles per liter, 48 months before their first fight. The total testosterone level of the fighter should be below 5 nmol/L via the eligibility of them for competing against females with the monitoring of the conditions and being tested at the expense of the fighter with a 12-month long adjournment for the failure to meet the benchmarks."
