Tom Aspinall, the no. 6 in UFC heavyweight rankings, has reacted to his loss due to injury at UFC Fight Night 208. The British mixed martial artist lost to Curtis Blaydes following a knee injury that forced him to go to the canvas. Saturday’s fight night at The O2 in London came to an abrupt end in just 15 seconds. In the first round, Blaydes won the fight by Technical Knockout (TKO), which turned into a devastating event for Aspinall.

Though Aspinall hasn’t opened up about his injuries, he believed it was a strange accident. However, he looked in a good spirit and shared his thoughts via Instagram after the event. The heavyweight fighter was sitting with the opponent Curtis Blaydes and holding a beer.

He captioned that everything got better with a beer and praised the opponent Curtis Blaydes for the nice gesture as the latter came to visit Aspinall in his hotel room with his crew. He said that these freak accidents are unfortunate and that it wasn’t his night to win. Fans immediately reacted to his post and prayed for good health and quick recovery.

What would be the future of the British heavyweight fighter remains a mystery as he was ousted in his first match since joining the promotion just six fights ago. Born in Manchester, England, the 29-year-old, so far, has won twelve fights by knockout and three by submission in his professional career in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

He followed the footsteps of his father, a trained martial artist, and began learning martial arts at the age of seven. He signed a contract with Cage Warriors and was later promoted to UFC, where he made his professional debut two years back.
