UFC: Diego Lopes defeats Jean Silva in second-round knockout in San Antonio

Diego Lopes showcased his striking power with an emphatic second-round knockout victory over Jean Silva in UFC Fight Night at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio Saturday night. A highly anticipated featherweight main event clash between No. 2 ranked contender Lopes and No. 10 Jean Silva ended up in a one-sided contest.


Lopes, who has won five of his last six fights, displayed sharp movement and precise combinations, while Silva, who has reeled off 13 straight victories, tried his best but ultimately couldn't stand against his opponent.



Lopes controlled the first round from start to finish, dropping Silva early and dominating him from mount. Silva roared back in the second, pressing the action with heavy punches and repeatedly attempting his trademark spinning back elbow.
