UFC: Bud Light is official beer partner despite controversy

The UFC has revealed its new official beer partner, Bud Light, in a multiyear deal with Anheuser-Busch set to take effect in 2024. This partnership comes after a period of controversy earlier this year surrounding the beer brand.

In this agreement, the Bud Light brand will have a prominent presence in UFC's content across broadcasts and online platforms.

UFC CEO Dana White expressed his satisfaction with the renewed collaboration, stating, "Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light were UFC’s original beer sponsors more than fifteen years ago. I’m proud to announce we are back in business together." White emphasized that the decision was based on shared core values and the alignment of the UFC brand with Anheuser-Busch.


Anheuser-Busch will be taking over from Modelo as the UFC's official beer partner. Dana White has said that his choice was not based on finances.

Bud Light faced criticism last spring for its partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney, resulting in a notable drop in sales. Further controversy arose when the company's vice president of marketing, Alissa Heinerscheid, made critical comments about Bud Light's past advertising strategies.

Notably, despite the backlash, some high-profile figures have continued to support the iconic beer. Kid Rock, who gained attention for a viral video in which he destroyed a case of Bud Light, was spotted enjoying the beverage at an event in August.
