UFC Baku results: Rountree Jr. vs Jamahal Fight Night highlights and main card winners

Khalil Rountree Jr. achieved a significant victory in his career during the UFC's inaugural event in Baku, Azerbaijan, defeating former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill through a unanimous decision over five rounds.

The judges awarded the bout to the No.7-ranked Rountree with scores of 49-46, 50-45, 50-45. This victory improved Rountree's record to 15-6 with 1 NC, while the No.4-ranked Hill's record decreased to 12-4 with 1 NC.

The initial minute saw minimal engagement as both fighters assessed each other. Hill initiated with leg kicks, but Rountree's retaliatory kicks proved more impactful. The round's final minute witnessed increased exchanges, with neither fighter establishing clear dominance.



In the second round, Rountree's leg kicks left visible damage on Hill's right leg. The Las Vegas fighter maintained a strategic distance, striking from range. Hill managed to land a single punch on Rountree following a slip, but showed limited offensive output afterwards.

During round three's midpoint, Rountree's counter left briefly knocked Hill down, strengthening his lead. As the round continued, Rountree increased his strike frequency, sending Hill to the canvas again with a powerful right hand.

The fourth and fifth rounds followed a similar pattern, with Rountree delivering powerful strikes while Hill, despite showing resilience, remained overwhelmed by his opponent's offence.
